Love At First Sight
It was truly an ‘uncontrollable force of attraction’.
I was physically pulled to her, or perhaps it was the pushing of other shoppers forcing me in her direction, either way it was fate. The stars were aligned that early winter morning I found her in the laptop isle of a US Circuit City store.
She was playful, sending me a bright ray of light so early in the day.
Have you ever had your spirit lifted? Have you ever been in love…at first sight? I mean the way you can move around the room but never take your eyes off of her?
That day it was love mixed with a very powerful feeling of attraction…like earth is attracted to earth, water to water and fire to fire.
Its been said that birds of feather flock together, well today I wanted to fly right over and say ‘hello’.
She was so new, so fresh and exciting, almost saying, “…be with me and anything can happen”.
We hit if off right away as my fingers began to caress her. It felt as though I had known her all my life, so familiar yet so fresh and exciting. I felt like a kid again!
That Saturday, in a retail electronic store, I had found my soul mate. Made by Sony, this new 17.5″ HD widescreen laptop was, “Love at first sight”.
Happy Valentines Day!

[…] Mark Herpel fell in love at first sight…with his laptop. No, this isn’t meant to be creepy, honest. […]

I am happy for you two, Mark. I really am. I mean that. Sincerely.
SONY VAIO and I had some great times together, and I savor those memories. But her screen went dark for me, as so often happens with exotics such as she, and I tried to salvage the relationship with an external monitor but it was never the same.
My Gateway desktop is a workhorse, dependable, always there for me… but still sometimes at night I dream of that sleek grey beauty, and think, maybe someday…
Enjoy her, and treat her right. Have a great Valentine’s Day together. Tell her not to worry bout me. I’m doing fine.

She may be hefty, but I’m sure she’s quite a bundle of joy!

Sean, thanks for the comments and I’m sorry for your loss. Gateway is a tough cookie, the real street smart kind :-)
