In Russia, Webmoney Is More Popular Than e-gold By A 5 to 1 Margin
In Russia, Webmoney rules!
The Romir Monitoring holding has conducted a survey on electronic payments systems. The surveyed group in Russia, according to Runet’s research, accounts for about 21% of the population. Of the group surveyed about half of them as never even used an online payment system at all and they were about 60-40 more women than men.
A quarter of the respondents used WebMoney to make their payments. Yandex Money was the second most popular payment system (20%). The third most popular was the System of Distance Bank Operations (10%).
Less than 4% of the respondents use such payments systems as E-Gold (4%), E-port (3%), Rapida (3%), Assist (2%), CyberPlat (2%), Payplat (2%), MoneyMail (1%), Rupay (1%), Moneybookers (1%), Internet Money (1%).

Webmoney must be purchased from a third party agent. Currently there are hundreds of these agents around the globe (3344 cities in 44 countries).
